Fall Layers

Sweater and blouse: Anthro.  Express shorts.  H&M tights.
Hobo International clutch.  Wedges: ModCloth.

One of the things I love about layering is that it allows me to put my own individual twist on an ensemble.

I enjoy a little quirk or crazy now and then in my outfits, thank you very much.

I'm sure you've picked up on that by now.

I've been reaching for the Mister's side of the closet an awful lot these days (thanks, dear), which has everything to do with me being bored of all my clothes.  Yup, ALL of them.  

Well, except this skirt.  Which my mom bought for me when I was in 7th grade.  

Thanks Mom.  You picked a good one.

I need some retail therapy.  Fast.

So I've been working on choreographing a dance for our performing company with my dance partner-in-crime. (Which is way more fun than making up dances solo, fyi.)  

The piece has that retro Broadway flair to it with some old-school tap styling mixed in. 

And there you have it- the inspiration for this outfit.  Tap shorts, pearls, and an art-deco patterned top.   

Best part: I wore it straight to dance class.  

Well, sans heels.

Eliminate Boring With Some Bling

Nine West booties.  A whole bunch of random bracelets...
and a Guess watch.

My strategy:  accessorize the bejeezus out of a simple tee and slouchy pants.  

Ta-daaaa!  Instant outfit.

Electric Feel

Miss Albright heels.  Vivi Dot Jester Diamonds Presidio Necklace.

So I didn't waste any time making an outfit with this new-to-me electric blue blouse I found at a yard sale this weekend.

New clothes are so refreshing, even if they're old.
