Short and Sweet

F21 shorts.  Top: Nordstrom.  Wedges and necklaces: Anthro.

The last little bit of summer has been lingering around Seattle, so I thought I'd post this last-little-bit-of-summer outfit.  Who knows, it could be the final time I wear shorts until next May.  But I hope that's not really true.

Burnt Orange Corduroy. Yes.

Gap skirt.  J.Crew belt.  Seychells boots.  H&M scarf.
Top: Nordstrom.

I guess I'm lucky that I get so excited pulling out my old seasonal clothes.  It's the same thrill I have after a little shopping excursion, except... FREE!  Hooray for that.

This skirt is a really old one (like 5 years?), as are the boots, which are my very favorite.  Technically they are brown leather, but there is an ever-so-slight purple tint to them which makes them compliment soooo many colors, including black.  Honestly though, I'm not sure how many more seasons I'll get to wear these.  They are very well loved and pretty scuffy around the toes.

Oh, and I almost forgot!  This is a dance outfit in disguise.  Yup, there's a leotard under the skirt and top.  After running errands in this the other day, I went straight to the studio, threw on some tights and a pretty pretty ballet skirt, and was ready to seize the day.  Ballet-style, of course.

Well Isn't This Nice

A lovely thank you to Rachel Marie over at The Quirky Poet for nominating me for this little award here!  I think your blog is great too, dear.  And I want your hair.  Just saying.

Alright, and the rules are:

I get to tell you seven random things about myself as well as pass on the award to seven other great bloggers.

Nominees, in order to accept this award you must:
-Thank and link back to the person who awarded you.
-Write seven random things about yourself.
-Award seven other lovely bloggers.

As for me...
1.  My favorite color is purple.  Which is funny, because I hardly ever wear the color.
2.  I met my husband in high school.  We had the same last name back then (and hey! I guess we still do now) and the seating arrangement in the class we shared was alphabetical by last name.  True Love.
3.  If I could go anywhere in the world on vacation, I would go to Disneyland.  It is truly the happiest place on earth.  I will just leave it at that for now, because I could go on forever about that magical place.
4.  I'm slightly obsessed with sharpies.  You can write on anything with those things.
5.  Oh, and post-it notes too.  Especially if there's some sort of cute design on them.
6.  I'm a dance teacher.  But I feel like most of my blog readers know that already.  I even have a degree in dance.  Because I'm fancy like that.
7.  If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be inside an Anthropologie catalog.  What can I say? I dream big.

And for you...

Thanks so much to these bloggers for always putting interesting and exciting things out there on the web.  You are inspiring.

All I Needed Were My Pink Chunky Heels

Audrey 3+1 dress.  ModCloth Handle It Satchel.
Seychelles heels.  Vivi Dot feather ring.
Pant: Anthropologie.

Honestly, I promise, I did get dressed all of last week.
It just happened to always be dance clothes.  And I'm pretty picky about which spandex outfits I'll share with you.  Sorry.
But, yay! finally! Real clothes!!  Gosh it feels great to put on some funky, lady-ish heels after a week of ballet slippers, bare feet, and birkenstocks.

Yep, still love getting dressed.

And Just Like That, It's Fall.

F21 dress.  Seychelles suede heels.
Cardigan and bag: Anthro.
Vivi Dot Paisley Foliage Sutro Park Necklace

I blink, and summer's gone.  Oh Seattle.
But it's ok.  I'm pretty excited for fall.  And all the layering it entails.
This girl loves adding some funky socks or crazy tights to outfits in order to stay cozy and warm.
Bring it on, autumn.

Rainbow Bright

Vintage scarf.  F21 dress.  Wedges: Anthro.

Ok I know this is not at all a magically fall-inspired outfit like I promised last time I was here, but it's been in the MID-EIGHTIES in my neck of the woods all week.

And I don't know how familiar you are with Seattle weather, but that's kinda a big deal.

So I am holding off on all my tweeds and sweaters for awhile longer and embracing this Indian Summer we're having (wait, is that still PC to say?!).  Sundresses, you get a little extra playing time this year.  You're welcome.
