One Outfit, Two Ways

H&M menswear shorts.  ModCloth Stack Time Heel.  Soda boat shoes.
Vintage bead necklace.  Vivi Dot Fawn watch necklace.

I love it when separates come together in such a way that you can either dress them up or down.

So here we go:
*boat shoes, piled hair, and low-slung, slouchy shorts for comfy daywear.
*big ol' platforms, a more polished 'do, and a high gathered waist for a lovely summer happy hour.  Hmm, could even wear this at the office too, with a sassy blazer thrown over the white tank.  Yep, that'd work.

What can I say? The possibilities are endless.  Again, I profess--
I love clothes.

I Like It A Latte

Dress and blouse: Target.  F21 boots.
Because of my 'no dancing in the summer' thing, I have had a lack of sneaky dance outfit posts.  So I'm gonna make it up to you all (you're welcome) by sharing another one of my coffee-making outfits.

Now, most mornings when I'm stumbling out of bed around 4am I just really don't care what I put on.  Black pants? check. Black collared shirt? awesome.

But some days I need more than that.  Like today.

So I'm pretty pleased with myself and how tricksy I was because that khaki skirt is really a khaki dress.  I've had it forever and never worn it to work before because the only two dress code options for a top are black or white.

Not sure why it took me so long to think of this, but, um, DUH.  Put a white shirt over the top of the dress.
Geeeeeez, really?  What an obvious solution.  Silly Stacie.

Anyway, here is my take on trying-to-maintain-my-style-while-staying-in-dress-code outfit.  Hope it thrills you to no end.

Monday's Mix: Let's Romp!

Wednesday's romper.  Tuesday's shoes.  Friday's scarf.

I love rompers because:

They're like a dress, but with holes to put your legs through.
You don't have to worry about coordinating a top and bottom.  Just throw it on and you're set.
If you're feeling creative, you can layer or accessorize the heck out of them.
They are comfortable.  Like a onesie for big kids.

Do I have you convinced yet?
So come on, throw on your favorite one and let's take a romp!

here we go...

The Blush

H&M dress.  Steve Madden oxfords.
H&M gold pendant necklace.  Porcelain necklace: Anthro.
I really love this blush color that's been hanging around this season.  It makes a sturdy, simple dress feel delicate, intimate, sheer, and o-so ladylike.

Hey, even the hummingbirds like it.
ummmm, put a bird on it?!?

Kitten Heel. Meow.

Old Navy top and shorts.  Vest: Anthropologie.
MIA heels.  H&M gold necklace.  Nordstrom turquoise ring.
Vivi Dot Teal and Purple Scalloped Watch Necklace.
Along with today's outfit pictures, you get a list of random facts about what I'm wearing.  Here it goes.

1.  I bought these shorts in 8th grade.  No joke.
2.  This top (which makes me squeal with delight every time I take it out of the summer clothes bin) was on sale for right around 3 dolla a couple years ago.  I love it because it's strapless, but flowy and drapey at the bottom.  And comfy.  And it goes with lots o' stuff.
3.  These little grey patent pumps were purchased at the Forum Shops in Las Vegas one crazy-fun night because I could no longer walk in my sassy, super high, peep toe, black patent leather heels that were on my poor little feet.  We literally had to stop what we were doing and go get me different shoes because I couldn't move any more.  Ahhh Vegas.

Little did you know that this seemingly harmless outfit had a bunch of weird little stories behind it.  Aren't clothes great?

At The Mail Table

Top: Anthro.  Romper: Target.  Heels: ModCloth.
I always wear my highest heels while opening mail.  Don't you?

Tee Shirt Dressing - My Way

Skirt and shoes: Anthropologie.  Bella tee shirt.
Navy and white vintage necklace.
Vivi Dot Paisley Foliage Sutro Park Necklace and Dot Rings.

There's nothing more exciting (to me) than dressing up a simple, run of the mill tee shirt to make a special outfit.

So here you go:  Tee, skirt, funky shoes, chunky jewelry = today's outfit.  Taaa-da!
