So really this hat is a fedora.  I just turned up the front brim a bit to give it a more hipster feel.

Fall Layers

One of the things I love about layering is that it allows me to put my own individual twist on an ensemble.

I enjoy a little quirk or crazy now and then in my outfits, thank you very much.

I've been reaching for the Mister's side of the closet an awful lot these days (thanks, dear), which has everything to do with me being bored of all my clothes.  Yup, ALL of them.  

Well, except this skirt.  Which my mom bought for me when I was in 7th grade.

I need some retail therapy.  Fast.

So I've been working on choreographing a dance for our performing company with my dance partner-in-crime. (Which is way more fun than making up dances solo, fyi.)  

The piece has that retro Broadway flair to it with some old-school tap styling mixed in. 

And there you have it- the inspiration for this outfit.  Tap shorts, pearls, and an art-deco patterned top.   

Best part: I wore it straight to dance class.
